2022 Soldiers’ Land Shiraz

The original lease of 171 Jury Road, Berri, South Australia, was has handed to Horace Walpole & Clara Denford Andrews on 10th June 1922. The ownership of the land changed hands many times until Carl Hermann Pech, originally from the Barossa, purchased it on the 30th August 1939. After eighty-two years of Pech ownership, Robert Ashley and Ruth Lynette Pech sold 171 Jury Road to another Barossa family, Ashley and Holly Ratcliff and their children, in January 2021.

The Ricca Terra Soldiers’ Land has the opportunity of Protecting the Future by investing in the Returned & Services League (South Australia), who play an important role preserving the legacy and looking after the men and women, and their families, who make up South Australia’s armed services. Part proceeds from the sale of Soldiers Land will be donated to the Returned & Services League (South Australia).

    • Fermented in old oak barrels using yeast that was found in the vineyard (natural fermentation). Made in a fresh and youthful style, this wine spent five months in oak before being bottled.

      Harvested from two seperate hand pruned vineyards located in Berri, South Australia. Each vineyard was planted by returning soldiers from World War Two and were hand picked in late April.
